Concours Hats

Hi guys and gals!! So I know it’s been so long since I’ve posted anything, but after the craziness of the Concours I now have much more time to do other things I love (besides my job) like oh so stylish!! The show was such a huge success and it really has everything to do with how hard the whole team works year round on the event. Truly blessed to be working with such a great group!

One of my jobs during the day of show, Concours Sunday, was to style the award presenters… aka the ramp models. I had SO much fun styling them in their fabulous dresses, hats and pearls. The dresses were handmade from Norway and purchased from the store Augustina’s in downtown Carmel. The people at Augustina’s are so wonderful and showed us the entire collection to choose from just two days after they received the dresses from Norway! The stretch lace material made the dresses fit the girls like a glove. My favorites of the dresses were the ones with see through lace sleeves (see photos below).

The hats were of course vintage and had been a part of the Concours closet for many years. They went perfectly with the dresses and made the girls look straight from the early days of the original Paris Concours. Hats to the ladies are like the classic cars to the men at the Concours, so it was important to have our award girls in some fabulous hats. After the girls presented the awards and the Best of Show car was announced, as the confetti settled, a representative from Philip Treacy approached me to talk about future hats to style the models with which was SO exciting. Now if you’re into fashion slash have a mild obsession with the royal family and their hats… and don’t know Philip Treacy, you must look him up! He’s the hottest hat designer in the UK right now and has been creating some of the the most talked about hats worn by members of the royal family and their crowd. His site is: http://www.philiptreacy.co.uk/

It was yet another very successful event full of the most amazing classic cars in the world and the ladies fit right in with their vintage outfits. Check out some of the pics I took in action on my iPhone that day:

Posing together at Pebble just before we went down onto the ramp!

Under the ramp presenting flowers to the car owners!

Here I am in the middle with my girls!! They all rocked it and looked amazing, made me so proud! Oh and the girls on the sides in the race track suits—how cute are they!? They presented the awards to the motorcycles in comfy yet stylish fashion. So much fun… Cheers!!

Chicago Show

A couple of weeks ago I went to Chicago for a fashion/hair runway show. I got to work with some of my favorite people of all time including the world renown Gina Khan team and one of my closest girl friends Sophie, who I actually met 2 years ago from modeling together at this exact same show. All of us have traveled to Paris, Chicago, Las Vegas, and NYC together doing runway shows for the past couple of years. It’s like working with a crazy fun and fabulous family. These people plus amazing hair, make up and fashion in the windy city made for yet another memorable weekend. Here are some behind the scenes pictures of the show throughout the weekend.

Oh hey home for the next 3 days.

All the wonderful Logics by L’Oreal hair products that made our color shine on stage.

Gina Khan doing Soph’s hair—the beautiful blonde :) Just wait until you see what her hair turns out to look like…

There was a lot of waiting around during the big prep day on Saturday. Made for a great time to read and get some other work done.

Sophie’s hair all finished. My favorite one of the group :)

The team hard at work on the red head right before the show on Sunday.

Love these shoes.

Then came my favorite part of fashion shows—the makeup. It was truly Sunday funday with tons of crazy makeup, hair and fashion. Oh, and good and plentys. My perfect Sunday.

Sassy Sophie. Die for this outift.

This does not look like me at all, I know! But it’s amazing what they can do with hair. Kind of obsessed with this funky big pink cloak and slip dress under it.

Showtime.

Post-show photo op. Looks = crazy, cool and fun. The show was such a success we were ready to do it all over again.

Hope you enjoyed! More to come on other shows and shoots happening in the next month. Nighty Night :)

I found a book of these original Vogue covers at a garage sale in Carmel. The woman who gave them to me had them because she was actually on one of the covers back in the 60’s. They’re all from very different eras but look great together on my wall.
